Removing Dolphin as Ubuntu Gutsy KDE’s File Manager
After upgrading to Ubuntu Gutsy afew days ago, I have decided that Dolphin is useless and I want Konqueror back as my default File Manager. So in my travels of fixing my KDE problems, I did figure out how to remove Dolphin as the file manager.
Step 1
Press
KCONTROL
Which will bring up the nice KDE Control Panel, now in this Panel on the Left Menu look for KDE Components and Click on it to open that panel. Now Look for and Click on File Associations
Which will be in the new menu opened from the previous click.
Ok Now you should have a big list of stuff in the Center Box, Scroll Down until you Find inode and Once there Click to open that one.
Now inside of here, You need to open directory and system directory To make the changes, Once inside of one of them, Look at the last box and Click on Konqueror until it is at the Top of the Box.
And thats it. While your in here you can also adjust you file associations to open your default applications by looking in the applications tab.
